A Trace of Snow

A trace of snow refers to the least amount of snow that can be sensed by humans but can’t be measured. In Chicago, it usually occurs along with the leaves falling, indicating the end of the fall and the coming winter.
By carefully collecting, preserving, marking, and rearranging fallen ginkgo leaves, the artist arranges a series of seemingly accidental events where leaves fall into specific patterns in specific places. These accidents suggest a crime scene in which they are the evidence. Just like dust and birds, they are about to take off.
