Liang He is a
research-based interdisciplinary artist and a gamer who explores games and
play, and systems associated with the construction of identities. His sculpture
and installation works are playful recreations of the artists’ daily encounters or
fictional scenarios. They merge his interests towards historical narratives,
video games, pop culture and media technology, and illuminate existing systems
or narrative. Through creating these game-like installations, he often embark on
a research journey, where he is able to experiment and rhetorically reconfigure
the dynamics within the systems or narratives being referred to.
